Pushing the NLP Communication Buttons
NLP is all about communication, and pushing the NLP communication buttons. Communication is the key to building rapport and this is the single most important skill that any of us can acquire throughout our lifetime. Without rapport, we can tend to live a very lonely existence, not getting along with others, and really not achieving what it is that we want or what we need in life. Understanding how to communicate effectively means understanding how others think, and what programming they have dictating the things they say and the behaviors that they show.
As our ability to understand these things grows, so does our ability to effectively control our communication skills so that we are able to adjust when we need to and change when we must. Learning these skills is very powerful stuff, and can really make the difference by pushing the NLP communication buttons. Some call this skill “becoming word conscious” and what that means is being aware of what is in your mind, and in the minds of those around you.
We all need to learn words that will promote understanding and enthusiastic cooperation with people in our lives. We all need to find ways to be more assertive without being aggressive, and we certainly need to identify and change self-defeating inner vocabulary into much more constructive and supportive communication.
Learning how to communicate with others effectively means having an understanding of what space they are in, and meeting them in that space. Having a rapport relies on this technique and by practicing it every chance you get, it is possible to not only change your own life, but also the lives of those you communicate with. To be able to teach others to communicate in the same way broadens your chances of achieving the level you need to be an influence on others, and to acquire what it is you want in your life.
The world’s most successful people are all first class communicators. These people inspire others every day, and yet most of us would not begin to comprehend or understand what goes on inside the mind of any one of these people. If we did, we would be able to command the same respect they do, and inspire others just like they do.
